Oliha, 44, died in a private hospital in Ilorin, Kwara State capital on Sunday morning, after complaining of malaria. He was said to have been on the bench while Kwara Football Academy, where he worked as a coach, played a Malian team on Saturday. Defence and Security Chiefs of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) troop contributing countries are today meeting in Bamako with United Nations (UN) officials to discuss final modalities for the transformation of the African-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA) into the UN mission in that country, MINUSMA. BBC: US President Barack Obama has toured Robben Island – the jail in which Nelson Mandela was kept for 18 years. He said he and his family were “deeply humbled” to visit the prison once inhabited by Mr Mandela – who remains critically ill in hospital.     Nigeria’s petroleum and gas workers have issued a notice of a three-day warning strike starting Monday, over longstanding labour dispute, raising the spectre of nationwide fuel crisis as workers have been ordered to stop products at the depots. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, said it will end the warning strike on Wednesday after when it will embark on an “indefinite” industrial action of its demands are not met. Unknown gunmen numbering 50 have broken into the medium security Olokuta prison along Ondo road in Akure, Ondo state. The gunmen set 175 inmates free in a daring attack that took place around 12: midnight. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen freely used Improvised Explosive Devices to carryout out the jailbreak. Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha, is dead. He died in the early hours of Sunday. Born in October 1968 in Benin City, Nigeria, Oliha played for clubs in Africa and Europe but the career was marred by injury. Until his death, Oliha was one of the coaches at the Kwara State Football Academy in Ilorin. While his career lasted, Thompson Oliha played for Bendel Insurance (1985-1987), Iwuanyanwu Nationale (1988-1991), Africa Sports (1992-1993), Maccabi Ironi Ashdod F.C.
