Two journalists in Kogi State became millionnaires on Tuesday at the presentation of prizes to the different categories of winners in the maiden edition of the GYB Essay Competition for journalists in the state. The Correspondent of The Sun Newspaper in Kogi State, Emmanuel Adeyemi, won the competition with a total score of 75.8 per cent. He was followed closely by Richard Elesho of The News, who scored 72.6 per cent. President Bola Tinubu has approved the return of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to the Office of the Vice President for supervision, in compliance with their various establishment Acts. This is contained in a statement issued by Olusola Abiola, Director of Information in the Office of the Vice President. The President has also approved a formal structure for the Office of the Vice President as well as an appropriate number of technical and administrative aides that will work with the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities.

The Sokoto State House of Assembly on Tuesday in Sokoto adopted Standing Orders to regulate its procedures. This development followed a motion moved by the Deputy Speaker Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim (APC-Kware), and seconded by Buhari Haliru (PDP- Sokoto North I). A Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded 23 persons in a Correction Centre for allegedly causing the crisis in Oju Local Government Area of Benue on June 11. The police charged the defendants, of various addresses in Oju with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, inciting public disturbance, mischief by fire, illegal possession of firearms and acts of terrorism. Placenta The Police in Ondo State have arrested a nurse, health assistant and security guard at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Emure-IIe,  Owo Local Government Area, over the mysterious disappearance of a baby’s placenta. The Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, made this known while speaking with the newsmen on Tuesday in Akure. The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) is being owed over 50 billion Naira by electricity consumers in Kwara, an official said on Tuesday in Ilorin.
