President Bola Tinubu has approved the return of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to the Office of the Vice President for supervision, in compliance with their various establishment Acts. The Sokoto State House of Assembly on Tuesday in Sokoto adopted Standing Orders to regulate its procedures. This development followed a motion moved by the Deputy Speaker Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim (APC-Kware), and seconded by Buhari Haliru (PDP- Sokoto North I). A Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded 23 persons in a Correction Centre for allegedly causing the crisis in Oju Local Government Area of Benue on June 11. The police charged the defendants, of various addresses in Oju with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, inciting public disturbance, mischief by fire, illegal possession of firearms and acts of terrorism.
