Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar describes the late APC gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, as a remarkably committed democrat that believed firmly in the principle of the rule of law.
In a statement issued in Abuja expressing his sadness over the sudden death of the APC candidate, the former Vice President says he was deeply impressed by Audu’s politics, which was “built on passion for service and love for his people.”
According to Atiku, it is rare to come across a politician with Audu’s “tenacity of purpose and conviction”.
He explains that the late Audu consistently pursued his ambition in civilized fashion, because “he always resorted to the courts whenever he was not satisfied with outcomes of the elections in which he participated”.
The Turaki Adamawa says for “a politician that pursued his ambition for twelve years without losing his zeal or faith in democracy, one must give the late Audu credit for such consistency and tenacity”.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also explains that the late APC governorship candidate was a decent politician who never believed in do-or-die politics for the sake of his ambition.
He prays to God to grant the dead eternal rest in peace. Atiku extends his deep sympathy to the family, the party and the people of Kogi State over the tragic death of their illustrious political figure.
