Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been granted bail following his arraignment at the Ifo High Court in Ogun State.
The Chief magistrate, A.S Shoneye, in his ruling, on application for bail made by the singer’s counsel, said the offences are bailable.
He consequently granted Portable bail with bail bond of N300,000 and N500,000 as well two sureties who must reside within the jurisdiction of the honorable court.
The court, however, ruled that the defendant (Portable) be transferred to the Ilaro correctional centre pending the time his bail requirements are met.
Recall also that Portable had last week Thursday, resisted arrest by police personnel but was subsequently arrested on Friday and taken into custody.
“He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun.
“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway,” Force PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi had tweeted.
