From last week, there have three cases of armed robbery attacks, raping of young and old women.
Some of the victims who are being hospitalized in an undisclosed clinics told our correspondent that the criminals numbering about six men climbed the fence of their houses between two o’clock and three in the night.
Another resident who was seriously injured disclosed that they climbed the fence of the building, broke into his room, and took his wife away.
“They beat me, took my children to another room; and raped my wife and later made away with my belongings. We now live in a state of fears”, said the victim.
Another victim who is said to be visiting her son whose wife was ill said: “we are hearing that Abuja is calm, totally free from Boko Haram, armed robbery attacks and other vices, but to my surprise, what am seeing this night is the opposite.”
Residents of the area are now fleeing for their safety. They however appealed to the Inspector General of Police to come to their assistance, adding that they still have confidence in the Nigerian police, particularly in the ability of Mr. Solomon Arase to sanitise the area.
Jikwoyi has been witnessing underdevelopment, simply because of the insecurity in the neighborhoods.
