Justice Adeniyi Ademola of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Monday struck out a suit filed by the Federal Government against Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, the alleged mastermind of the April 14, bombing at Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja.
The Judge struck out a two-count terrorism charge filed by the Nigeria Police for lack of diligent prosecution after months of trial.
“This criminal charge is hereby struck out for want of diligent prosecution by the complainant, Inspector General of Police and his prosecutor,” Justice Ademola held.
Prompt News recalls that the bomb explosion which occurred at Nyanya bus station killed no fewer than 75 people and left dozens injured.
Ogwuche was said to have fled to Sudan but was repatriated with the help of the International Police (Interpol).
