The Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the sum 1.2bn to fully offset gratuity of 2014 set of the state retirees.
According to a statement signed by Sina Adeyeye, the Press Officer, Office of the Head of Service, distribution of cheques to beneficiaries will be flagged off by the governor at an event to be held at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure on Thursday 11th January, 2024 by 3pm.
It would be recalled that all 2013 set of state retirees’ gratuity had been cleared last year while 2011 and a fractional part of 2012 set of the local government retirees were also cleared. READ ALSO:

This is apart from about N320m monthly, totalling about N2.7b yearly, that government has set aside for the settlement of all other categories of the pensioners’ benefits.
