AHLAN CUP: My mission is to promote grassroots football with NLO Clubs – Ahlan

The hostilities of who will emerge winner of the 3rd Edition of Ahlan Cup zonal invitational Tournament kicked off on Tuesday, with 10 NLO Division 2 clubs at the NFF Goal project, Package B of Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
The opening match between Sports Supply F.C.and Capital City Football Club was kicked off by the organiser of the competition Ahlan Sheriff Inuwa and Chairman NFF Technical Committee, who revealed that the essence of the competition was to discover, develop and nurture talents at the lowest grassroot.
He said the absence of School sports which has been the brain behind promoting grassroots football informed his decision to introduce zonal football tournament.
” I key into this project because I am a product of School Sports. I played principal cup and that led me to play at both state and national level. My desire is to take this competition to the 6 zones of federation. The first edition was staged in Kano for North West, 2nd edition Bauchi (North East) and North Central now holding in Abuja with 10 selected NLO division 2 Abuja base clubs.
My intention is assemble all the discovered talents from the zones at the end of zonal tournament for international exposure under my sponsorship”. Said Ahlan. READ ALSO:

The first match of the competition between Capital City F.C and Sports Supply FC ended a goal a peace was witnessed by NFF Board members including General Secretary Dr. Sanusi Mohammed.
Other clubs taking part in the competition are NYSC , Setraco Kings fc, FWC Champions and Like mind Football Club.
