Pursuant to the judgment of the Supreme Court, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke Friday directed the Acting Governor of Taraba, Garba Umar, to hand over to Abubakar Danladi forthwith.
In a statement signed by the Solicitor-General of the Federation, Abdullahi Yola, in Abuja, Adoke said the directive was sequel to Supreme Court’s nullification of the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor of Taraba, Abubakar Danladi.
Mr. Danladi was impeached by Taraba State lawmakers in October 2012 over allegations bothering on gross misconducts
“Pursuant to the Supreme Court judgment, the honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, hereby directs the Taraba acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar to immediately hand over“.
Garba should hand over the reins of governance to the Abubakar Danladi to ensure smooth transition and to prevent a vacuum in governance in the state.
“It will also guarantee the maintenance of constitutional order.’’
Consequently, the AGF called on the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, to provide adequate security in the state so as to maintain peace and tranquility.
