Apparently overwhelmed by the barrage of questions directed at him at the resumed hearing of the probe into the activities of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the Acting Managing Director, Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, collapsed before live television cameras on Monday during the public hearing of the House Committee on the Commission.
Pondei who walked out on the House Committee last week but was summoned to reappear on Monday has been making his submission to the panel investigating allegations of gross corruption in the Commission before he suddenly slumped.
He was however resuscitated before he was taken out of the place just as the Committee adjourned briefly to reconvene hours later.
Earlier, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development NDDC, Hon. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo (APC-Ondo) had stepped down following accusations of involvement in corrupt practices in the commission by Pondei.
Prompt News reports that NDDC management is being investigated for expending a whopping N81.5 billion within five months.
