Tobi Amusan won her third consecutive 100m women’s title at the African Games 2023 on Wednesday night.
The world record holder stormed to first position with a world leading time of 12.89s.
Amusan it would be recalled also won gold medal in the event in Congo Brazzaville 2015 and Rabat 2019.
Another Nigerian Faith Osumuyi finished fourth in the race.
Madagascar’s Sidonie Fiadanantsoa came second with a time of 13.19s, while Uganda ‘s Ashley Kamangarira was third with a time of 13.59s.
In the men’s 400m, Chidi Okezie claimed first position with a a personal best tiime of 45.06s.
It was the fastest time by a Nigerian athlete in nine years. READ ALSO:

Favourites Muzala Samukonga of Zambia clocked 45.37s for Silver, while Senegal’s Diouf Tidiane came third with a time of 45.49s.
Nigeria’ s Elo Joseph also won silver medal in the women’s 800m.
