By Gracious Akujobi Super Eagles goalkeeper, Theophilous Afelokhai has dismissed insinuation in some quarters that the present home-based Eagles in camp will not represent the country well as they face Ivory Coast and Sudan in an international friendlies in Dubai.
The Kano Pillars safe hand stated this following the poor showing of the Eagles in a test game against NYSC football team which ended 5-2 in favour of the Eagles.
“The match was not a bad match and I promise you that the team will be better as we prepare for the coming friendlies,” he said.
Afelokhai, praised the handlers of the team led by Daniel Amokachi for looking his way again and extending invitation to him.
“I want to thank Almighty God and the handlers of the team for inviting me to represent my country again. I am going to work hard to justify my call up,” he assured.
The team will depart the shore of the country on Thursday to Dubai to face AFCON 2015 favourite Ivory Coast and Sudan.
