Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu was rushed to the hospital on Friday after he collapsed during the team’s training session in Alexandria.
The Bordeaux winger apparently suffered from dehydration caused by the heat in Egypt at this time of the year.
“I have been told Samuel Kalu has been stabilized,” said NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire.
“He was taken to hospital for tests and he has been certified okay.
“He was dehydrated, they said. “They told him he needs to be taking enough fluids.”
The temperatures hover between 35 and 38 degrees and this has forced CAF to agree to water breaks during matches at the AFCON in Egypt.
Several other Eagles players have been laid low by flu, coach Gernot Rohr complained during an official press briefing.
The three -time African champions will take on the Swallows of Burundi in their opening game of the competition on Saturday.
