Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has urged his players to begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a strong note, Prompt News Online reports.
Nigeria will take on Madagascar’s Barea and Guinea-Bissau’s Djurtus in a crucial double-header this month as the three-time African champions begin their bid to qualify for the tournament.
Chelle wants his side to show ambition and determination from the opening game, insisting there can be no room for complacency.
“We have to show everyone from Day One that we want it, and the only way to do that is to go for it with our hearts and refuse to slow down at any point. We must go for the points without any hesitation,” Chelle told thenff.com.
The Super Eagles have met Madagascar five times, recording three victories, one defeat and one draw.
However, the Barea won the most recent encounter, defeating Nigeria 2-0 in the group stage of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
