Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be among the top seeds for Thursday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations draw.
The draw ceremony is scheduled for Johannesburg, South Africa.
It will kick-off at 12.30pm Nigerian time.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already released the draw procedure.
CAF stated that the highest ranked nations according to the latest FIFA Rankings released 20 June , 2024 will occupy Pot 1.
11 other countries including hosts Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Mali, South Africa, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo are also in Pot 1.
The concluded draw of the qualifiers will be made up of 12 Groups of 4 teams (Group A to L), where the first and runners-up in the eleven (11) groups that do not involve tournament hosts Morocco, will gain qualification to the competition.
Cote d’Ivoire head coach Emerse Faé and Moroccan legend Marouane Chamakh will serve as draw assistants
The AFCON 2025 finals will be played between December 21 and January 18, 2026. – PNO Sports
