In a bid to return the Super Eagles back to its glory days, there is every possibility that the current handler of senior National Team Jose Peseiro may not be at AFCON 2024 in Cote d’Ivoire as chief coach.
This revelation was made known to Prompt News Online by a high ranking NFF Chieftain as the Portuguese contract expires in June.
According to the Chieftain, the current board will not be in a hurry to renew any national team contract without looking into the score card.
“Look we must do things right to restore confidence in our football. The days of one or two people renewing contract (s) without Nigerians knowing the detail is gone. The interest of Nigerian football first before individual.
“As the expiration of the contract is getting closer we are consulting and working but wait till June. Look at our league now, are you not happy? Once we take the right step in right direction, Nigerians will support us and Super Eagles will not be an exception,” the Chieftain concluded.
The Source further stated that the national team must be efficiently restructured to achieve positive result.
