Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro insisted that his side deserved what they got after claiming a place in the semi-final at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Ademola Lookman’s 41st minute goal separated both teams on the night.
Peseiro’s side were in ascendancy for most part of the game.
The three-time champions had a chalked off for offside in the second half and were also guilty of missing several scoring opportunities.
“We played a good game, Angola showed they deserved to be here. We created two chances in the first half and hit the post in the first half,”Peseiro said during his interaction with media after the game.
“I’m very happy with my players. We scored one goal and could have had one or two more.
“We did well against a good team. We controlled the game and dominated our opponent.
“In the first half, we played well, closed down the spaces and didn’t give them room to operate. READ ALSO:

“After the break, Angola came out more and we had chances on the counter attack which we didn’t utilise.
“I’m happy for my players, we deserved to win the game. I want to congratulate them on this victory.”
Nigeria will face the winner of Saturday’s quarter-final between Cape Verde and South Africa for a place in the final.
