Super Eagles goalkeeper created a new mark for himself after inspiring the side to a remarkable 4-2 penalty shootout win against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Bouake on Wednesday night.
Nwabali set a new record for the most minutes without conceding a goal by a Nigerian goalkeeper at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The record was previously held by Ike Shorunmu.
Shorunmu, who featured in two AFCON finals for Nigeria went 450 minutes without conceding a goal across six games.
Shorunmu’s, who also once worked as Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer record stood for 22 years.

Nwabali’s new record stands 493 minutes without conceding.
The 27-year-old has been outstanding for Nigeria at the ongoing AFCON 2023 finals conceding only twice in six games.
