Adamawa government approved the completion of electrification projects in seven communities in Gombi Local Government Area of the state in Yola on Wednesday.
Addressing newsmen at the end of the weekly cabinet meeting, Mrs Neido Kofulto, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, listed the communities to include Guyaku, Fahar, Mbewa and Kaulewa.
Kofulto said contract for the project was awarded in 2007 at a cost of N44 million, but execution was abandoned after only 20 per cent of the job had been delivered.
She said the sitting government decided to complete the project and had approved an upward review of the contract sum to more than N192 million.
The commissioner explained that high cost of construction materials informed the upward review of the contract sum, stressing that it was necessary to execute the project fully to electrify the communities. (NAN). READ ALSO:
