The Senator representing Adamawa South, Mr Binos Yareo (PDP), has donated 130 computers to six institutions of learning located in his constituency.
The lawmaker donated the computers to the institutions in Mayobelwa on Tuesday.
He said that the initiative was aimed at promoting computer literacy.
According to him, each of the institutions was allocated 21 units of the computers.
He listed the institutions to include Adamawa State College of Agriculture Ganye, Numan Campus of Adamawa State Polytechnic and Gewana Campus of College of Agriculture.
The others are Elam ICT Center, Lutheran Bible College, Lamurde; and College of Health Technology, Mayobelwa.
He called on the management of the institutions to make maximum use of the computers.
He promised to donate computers to more schools.
Mr Hayatu Augustine, Head of Information and Communication Technology in Adamawa State Polytechnic, described the gesture as timely.
He said that the school would ensure maximum utilisation of the equipment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lawmaker recently sponsored treatment of no fewer than 8,000 members of his constituency for common ailments, as part of his medical outreach.
