Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has applauded the appointment of Mr Olawale Rasheed as the spokesperson to the Governor of Osun State, Mr Ademola Adeleke.
Mr Rasheed’s appointment with two others, Kassim Akinleye as the Chief of Staff and Teslim Igbalaye as the Secretary of the state was announced in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo, the state Capital.
The Director General, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Victoria Akai in a congratulatory message on behalf of the Executive Council and management of ACCI lauded Mr Rasheed’s appointment adding that his commitment and doggedness to duty earned him this level of achievement.
She said, Mr Rasheed, as the Executive Director of one of the four Centers of the Chamber had always proven high-level professionalism in his delivery and his coordinating ability remains top notch.
Akai also said having worked as the Senior Adviser, Media, to the Minister of State for Power from 2014 to 2015 with positive record, “we know he has all it takes to break new grounds and achieve greater results for positive change in Osun state”.
A statement by ACCI Media/Strategy Officer, Olayemi John-Mensah said Rasheed is a Nigerian award winning journalist/media entrepreneur formerly with Nigerian Tribune newspapers and a onetime governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Osun state governorship election.
He is a 1990 BA-Ed-English Language and 1993 Master in Public Administration graduate of the University of Ilorin. He held key editorial positions as Abuja Bureau Chief, Group Politics Editor, Deputy Editor/Regional Editor, North before his sojourn into government service.
He was appointed ministerial adviser to the Minister of Youth Development at the Federal Ministry from 2007 to 2011. From 2014 to early 2015, he was a ministerial adviser at the Federal Ministry of Power as the SA Media to the Minister of State for Power.
He is presently the publisher of Sahel Standard Magazine, an online newspaper and a member of Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOM). A widely quoted public affairs analyst on public policies and terrorism, Rasheed is a youth policy expert and Executive Director of Society for Youth Research in Nigeria, a leading non-governmental organizations researching and advocating on youth development issues.
He is the founder of Olawale Rasheed Foundation an NGO focused on orphans, aged and widows. He is the Chairman, Africa Railway consulting and the Executive Director, Policy Centre of ACCI.
