According to the President, Jamil Eniola, The UI Alumni Global Network was born out of the drive to assist the University of Ibadan to achieve the founder’s objectives and maintain the level of academic excellence consonant with our great alma mater.
“More importantly, Uites across the world now have a common Umbrella through which they can collectively make positive impacts to our great institution. It is a known fact that the education system in Nigeria has continued to decline due to dwindling support from the government, which has led to low commitments by other stakeholders leading to the production of poor graduates.
“One of our focus is to encourage research, improving technology and infrastructural development of the university which is not limited
to: Cancer research, computerization of some academic departments, solar energy to generate electricity and water supply on campus,
refurbishment of the departments, hall of residences etc.”
