            Segun Oni

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Segun Oni has urged indigenes of the State to use the Christmas period to rededicate themselves afresh to the service of the Almighty God and the obedience of His laws, adding that “Since Jesus Christ whose birth we are celebrating obeyed the commandments of God, it follows that Christians, too, must keep the commandments and teach others to do the same.”
“I want to use the occasion of this Christmas to urge all Ekiti sons and daughters both home and abroad to rededicate themselves afresh to the service of the Almighty and total obedience of His laws,” Oni said in his goodwill message to the people of the State.
He said; “Christians in particular should continue to be obedient to the commandments of God as done by our Lord Jesus Christ because He (Jesus) made it very clear that those who follow Him and aspire to His Kingdom have a perpetual obligation to obey and uphold God’s law.
“Therefore, our people, especially Christians should use this occasion of celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to rededicate themselves to the continuous service of God and humanity as well as total obedience to the commandments of God Almighty.”
