Kwara Falcons Basketball Club on Sunday opened their Atlantic Conference regular season campaign with a win over arch rivals, Oluyole Warriors, with a 83-60 win in Coach Lateef Erinfolami’s official debut as Head Coach.
Falcons Mojuba Oyeleye led his team with 13 points, 8 rebound and 2 assists while Mustapha Oyebanji, Anaiye Johnson and Chinedu Chimbuo also contributed 13, 13 and 12 points respectively.
Oyebanji Ibrahim also put up a splendid performance to lead Oluyole warriors scoring chart with 12 points while Muhammed Umar and Aribiyun Sunday contributed 9 points each.
The homers took all the quarters with a 19-15 points win in the first quarter, 36-32 win in the second quarter, 59-51 win in the third quarter before fighting hard to consolidate in the last quarter with 83-60 win to wrap up the game.
Erinfolami, who was delighted with the result, said the team will continue to improve game after game.
“We thank God for the win. It was not an easy one for us, you could see from the first three quarters but we found our rhythm in the last quarter.
“Also, you see that the performance was not that great because some of the players just came in and are yet to gel, but with time and hard work we shall get there, ” Erinfolami said.
