By Gracious Akujobi General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Musa Amadu has said that the federation’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) billed for Warri, Delta state on the 27 and 28 November will be a memorable one.
He expressed the optimism at the Glass House when he spoke to newsmen on Tuesday ahead of the AGA.
“We expect it will be a very interesting AGA, particularly given the achievements of the Federation on global scale. You know we started with African cup of Nations in February, we qualified for the world cup in Brazil for the fifth time and won the U-17 world cup in Abu Dhabi for a record unprecedented fourth time”.
The NFF Scribe is excited that the present NFF has appreciable score card to present to the congress and members and given the programmes the Federation has for next year which are; the FIFA U-17 world cup for women, the FIFA U-20 world cup for women in Costa -Rica and Canada respectively, the CHAN championship in South Africa, African Women Championship in Namibia and the big one which is the FIFA world cup in Brazil.
Amadu revealed that budget for next year’s programmes will be placed before the congress so that it can be approved to enable them source for funding.
“The year 2013 has been a very good year for Nigeria football and I expect that we should be able to consolidate on the gains that we have had this year so that 2014, the centennial year of Nigeria will be a cause for celebration for all” Amadu said.
