Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, will be representing President Goodluck Jonathan at the 3rd Africa-Arab Summit to hold in Kuwait City the capital of the oil rich State of Kuwait.
The Vice President would arrive, Kuwait for the Summit on Sunday 17, 2013, from Colombo, the Sri-Lankan capital, where he stood in for the President at the 2013 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Africa-Arab Summit with the theme, “Partners in Development and Investment,” would hold from 19th to 20th November 2013. The Summit would focus mainly on trade and investment issues that would impact positively on the peoples of the two regions.
Formal relations between Africa and the Arab world, was established in March 1977, with the Cairo Summit in Egypt. However, after about three decades of lull, the Summit was revived on October 10, 2010 with the 2nd Summit, which held in Sirte, Libya.
