The head coach of Kogi United FC, Fatai Osho has shortlisted 37 players following the conclusion of an open screening exercise conducted in Lokoja yesterday.
Coach Osho who spoke through the club’s media officer, Samuel Ahmadu, noted that the 37 picked were the best of all players examined at the screening exercise at the 25,000 capacity-seater Confluence stadium in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
Osho informed that the 37 players selected will be trimmed to 30 in the course of pre-season activities.
The former Remo stars gaffer while expressing delight in the quality of players picked, posited the club can achieve a promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League with discipline and hard work.
Osho, who will mostly be remembered for his former Remo Stars ’players’ great show against Enyimba in the Federation Cup at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium by the people of Kogi state, insists Kogi United FC can compete for honours in the upcoming season with the quality of players present in camp.
His assistant, Coach Omale Jonathan, has commended the fairness and understanding of his superior, Osho in the screening exercise, promising to give the best of his support to make the steering the club to the topflight an achievable quest.
“We are working together as the technical – we have good understanding and my boss has showed much fairness – I am happy to work with him and sure we will achieve great success at the club,” the former Benin Republic’s Hooper FC gaffer said.
