Kwara state Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed on Wednesday dissolved the State Executive Council after the Cabinet meeting.
The dissolution according to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Isiaka Gold, also affected the Special Advisers and Senior Assistants.
He said the Governor while thanking the former appointees for their services also directed all Commissioners to hand over to their Permanent Secretaries.
The statement by the SSG reads, “As you aware, governance is a dynamic process that requires constant review and deployment of resources accordingly. In view of this, the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the State Executive Council, today dissolved the Executive Council with immediate effect.
“This dissolution extends to all Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants who are also relieved of their appointments.
“Governor Ahmed directed all commissioners to hand over their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries.
“The Executive Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed thanked all former commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, and special assistants for their service to the state and wished them best of luck in their future endeavors.
“He further appealed to them to continue to support the state government in their future capacities”.
A former member of cabinet, Saka Onimago, speaking on behalf of his colleagues thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve the people of Kwara State and promised the continued allegiance of all his colleagues to the government and people of Kwara State.
