President Muhammadu Buhari today (Monday) resumed duties after his long vacation, his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, said in a statement.
According to him, in compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the President has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly “that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation.
Prompt News recalls that President Buhari returned to the country on Friday, after spending 50 days in the United Kingdom, looking after his health.
He however, asked his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, to carry on in acting capacity all through the weekend to enable him have more rest.
While Buhari was away in the UK, Osinbajo, was designated an Acting President.
