Acting President of NGE, Funke Egbemode

Former Vice President and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Mrs Funke Egbemode on her emergence as the President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors.

In a press statement released by his Media Office in Abuja, the former Vice President described the election of Mrs Egbemode as timely, appropriate and well-deserved adding that going by her contribution to the profession of  Journalism, it was expected that she would eventually attain that highly-esteemed position.

Atiku said also that the entire members of the Guild deserve accolade for the election which held peacefully and which has put a square peg in a square hole.

The Turaki Adamawa said further that the new Guild President is a role model and has used her work as a journalist over the years to educate and entertain people thus winning more converts for the profession.

The APC chieftain assured Mrs Egbemode and the Guild of his support and cooperation at all times and urged them to join hands with well-meaning Nigerians to proffer solution to the myriad of problems confronting the nation, at this time.
