The Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF has confirmed that D’Tigers Captain, Olumide Oyedeji will not feature for Nigeria in the Rio Olympics Games in Brazil.
Oyedeji, had announced his withdrawal on Wednesday, anchoring his decision on family reasons.
A terse statement issued by NBBF spokesperson, Patrick Omorodion, however, commanded Oyedeji for his dedication and sacrifice over the years.
Omorodion states, “The Nigeria Basketball Federation is fully in the picture of Olumide Oyedeji’s decision to withdraw from the team preparing for the Rio Olympics.
“His decision due to personal and family reasons will be respected.
“Meanwhile, we commend him for his dedication and sacrifice for Nigerian and world basketball both as a player, member of the federation and Fiba players commission.”
