The Board of the FCT Football Association on Tuesday visited the new FCT Acting Director of Sports Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma in her office.
The former NFF Executive Board Member assume the position on Monday following the retirement of the former Director Malam Alim Musa on Friday 15th April, 2016.
Speaking at the occasion, the FCT FA Chairman Alhaji Musa Talle congratulated the Acting Director for her appointment into the position. He expressed optimism that with her records in Sports Administration in the country, that there is no doubt that the FCT Administration would surely confirm her as the substative Director of Sports in the Capital City.
The FCT FA boss urged the new Director to use her wealth of experience to turn sports around in the FCT “it is a known fact that Sports in FCT is at the lowest realm. In the past, FCT was a force to reckon with in various Sporting competitions in the country and beyond, but today, that cannot be said.
The Board of the FA has a lot of confidence on you, so also is other Association, and we believe very much in your abilities”. He finally appealed to the new Acting Director to start thinking of revisiting the issue of disbandment of the FCT Queens, as this would help greatly in empowering the girl child, and taking them permanently out of the streets.
Responding, the Acting Director Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma was full of appreciation to the Board of the FCT FA. She said that the Board remains very vibrant and made up of men and women of good and great ideas.
She promised to work closely with them and other Sports Associations to return FCT where it rightly belongs in the country. She appeal to the FA to always feel free to approach her office with those ideas that would develop football fastly in Capital city and beyond.
