By Mohammed Yangida, Lafia As the ongoing investigation into the $2.1bn dollars arms deal closes on influential politicians across the country, Labaran Maku, former minister of Information and supervising minister of defence has gone underground, allegedly to evade arrest by security operatives.
Findings reveal that Labaran Maku has in the last few weeks gone into hiding as security operatives finalized investigation to invite him to answer questions over his involvement in the deal.
Prompt News checks last Sunday at his country home in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government showed that Maku, may have travelled out of the country if the words of family members are anything to go by.
There are indications that Maku is to serve as a star witness over money collected by his party, APGA to mobilise support for President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the Presidential elections.
Several attempts by our correspondent to get Maku on phone proved abortive even as he failed to reply text messages.
Maku who is presently in the supreme court challenging the outcome of the gubernatorial elections in Nasarawa state.
Prompt News reports that his petitions challenging the outcome of the April 11,2015 governorship election in the state were dismissed by both the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Court of Appeal for lack of merit.
