Yoruba actress Jumoke Odetola has announced that she has responded to what she described as God’s call to become a minister and preacher of the gospel.
The award-winning actress shared the news on Saturday through her Instagram page, following growing concerns from fans, colleagues and relatives about some of her recent social media posts.
Odetola said she had received several calls and messages from people checking on her and trying to find out whether she was going through any difficulties.
She expressed appreciation for their concern, saying the attention made her feel loved and supported.
“Jumoke, your recent posts… Are you okay? Is everything alright? I truly appreciate the numerous calls, messages & concerns of my friends, family, colleagues. Thank you so much. I feel seen, cared for and loved. Yes, something is going on in my life… but nothing is wrong with me,” she wrote.
Prompt News reports the actress explained that she was entering what she described as a new chapter of her life, centred on her relationship with God and her ministry.
“I am entering a new season with God. I am now a minister of God. I am now a preacher of the gospel. Yes! You heard right! A minister,” she stated.

Odetola said she had initially considered keeping her new journey private but decided to make it public to prevent people from drawing their own conclusions about her recent activities.
“I have been contemplating whether I should be private about it, but how can I be private about preaching the gospel when you could just see me on your street with my bell preaching the gospel? Let me bring myself out before anyone records me & brings me out,” she said.
The actress also appealed to her fans, colleagues and loved ones to support her with prayers as she begins the new phase.
“I need all the prayers in this new season. I need all the prayers in this season. When God compels you, you may delay, but you cannot escape the call,” she added.
