Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was among the major highlights at the first birthday celebration of her grandson, Rakeem, held in Lagos on Saturday.

The actress, who had earlier participated in a photoshoot with the birthday boy, was also actively involved in preparations for the colourful celebration.

The cowboy-themed event was attended by several celebrities who came with their families to celebrate Rakeem, the son of Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla, and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

Among the notable guests were media personality Toke Makinwa and her daughter, Yhemo Lee and his wife, Thayour B, and their son, actress Nkechi Blessing and her son, actor Kamo State, his wife and daughter, as well as fashion designer Veekee James.

The celebration featured games, music, dancing and other activities, with Rakeem’s parents also joining guests and family members in the festivities.

Although the occasion was designed mainly as a children’s party, the turnout of celebrities and the lively entertainment made it enjoyable for both adults and children.

Prompt News reports Ojo also acknowledged friends and associates who contributed to the celebration, including businesswoman Shade Okoya and actresses Lola Alao and Bose Alao, who supported the event with souvenirs for the children.

The actress herself became a talking point after her outfit for the occasion caught the attention of fans and followers online.

She later joined her son, Festus, on the dance floor, adding to the celebratory mood.

The birthday came after Ojo had shared glimpses of the preparations on social media and expressed appreciation to those who contributed to making the occasion memorable.

Rakeem’s first birthday marked an important milestone for the family, bringing together relatives, friends and celebrities for a memorable celebration in Lagos.
