Ismaila Sarr has expressed his disappointment following Senegal’s 3-2 loss to Norway, Prompt News Online reports.
Pape Thiaw’s side suffered their second defeat at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.
The result saw Norway join France in securing qualification for the Round of 32 from Group E, leaving Senegal needing a victory against Iraq in their final group-stage fixture to keep their knockout-stage hopes alive.
Holmgren Pedersen and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland were on target for Norway, while Sarr scored both of Senegal’s goals in the closely contested contest.
Reflecting on the defeat, Sarr admitted the result was difficult to accept but insisted the team remains determined to bounce back in their final group match.
“It was tough. We’re a little disappointed. But it’s not over yet, there’s still a third game to play. We’re going to go there to win it, and we’re going to work hard,” Sarr told FIFA.com.
