Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle praised his players following their impressive 2-0 victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe in Tuesday night’s Unity Cup semi-final clash at the Valley, Prompt News Online reports.
Millwall winger Femi Azeez netted both goals as the Super Eagles, despite fielding a largely experimental side, secured a comfortable win.
Chelle expressed satisfaction with the commitment and hard work shown by his players in the build-up to the encounter.
This was a good game. The players worked very hard over the last two days with two intense three-hour training sessions, so they deserved this victory,” Chelle said after the match.
The Malian tactician also commended Zimbabwe for putting up a strong fight.
“Zimbabwe is a good side with quality players and they performed well. I’m happy with my team and I congratulate the players,” he added.
