Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has said it is important for the team to start their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on a winning note, Prompt News reports.

The Super Eagles will face the  Taifa  Stars of Tanzania in their opening fixture in Fès on Tuesday night.

They will look to continue their impressive run in the group stage of the competition, having lost only once in their last 14 outings.

“We’re happy to be here. This a big game because this is the first game and the first game is very important. For sure, we want to win this game,” Chelle told reporters.

“We have a tournament,  and we are  here to be ambitious. I don’t have the time to think about what happened before.

” I prefer to stay focused on what happen right now. This is not the time to talk about the World Cup qualifiers and the last game. The most important is the next game.”

The game slated for Complexe Sportif de Fès will start at 6.30pm Nigeria time.
