There are very strong indications that the League Management Committee (LMC) may have been given the nod to continue the massive job it is doing been in turning around the Nigerian Premier league.
The LMC which came into being last year’s December was supposed to hand over to a duly elected league body at the end of the season but feelers have pointed to the contrary.
Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, Monday gave out what sounded like a tacit approval for the Nduka Irabor-led LMC to continue till further notice when he said there was no point changing a winning team.
“I am happy to see the progress the LMC have made within the short time of their constitution. We also know that they have not finished the job of nurturing the league so they may have to complete what they have started” the minister said
In a related development, the minister charged the NFF President, Aminu Maigari to ensure that players’ welfare is accorded priority if the game must progress.
