Hugo Ekitike bagged a brace as Liverpool defeated Brighton 2-0 as Mohamed Salah made a return to the team.
Ekitike gave the Reds the lead in the first minute of the thrilling contest.
It was the fastest Premier League this season.
The Frenchman netted his second of the game on the hour mark.
Salah was introduced for the injured Joe Gomez close to the half hour mark.
The Egypt international held talks with manager Arne Slot on Friday after his midweek Champions League omission.
He will now head to Africa Cup of Nations duty with his national team.
