The Oyo State Fire Service on Friday rescued a man who fell into a deep well at Beere, Ibadan
The agency announced the incident in a statement issued by its chairman, Hon. Maroof Akinwande.
Akinwande said the victim, estimated to be about 38 years old, was recovered from the well located at No. 1/184A, Ile-Epo Compound, Beere, Ibadan.
He explained that the rescued man was immediately handed over to police personnel from the Mapo Division for further action.
The chairman noted that the emergency call was received at exactly 1:30 p.m. on Friday, prompting a rapid response by fire service operatives.
He said, “Upon arrival, it was a man of about 38yrs of age, who fell into a deep well.
“Our officers hurriedly tied all necessary rescued knots with the lines.
“The victim was recovered and handed over to a team of policemen from the Mapo police division”.

The Fire Service urged residents to remain vigilant and ensure that wells and similar openings are properly secured to prevent accidents.
