Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and event planner Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe have created history by becoming the first Nigerian couple to exchange vows aboard a moving train.
The lovebirds tied the knot on the Lagos–Ibadan train, transforming the coaches into an elegant wedding venue beautifully adorned with floral decorations. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and officiating ministers were all present as the ceremony took place while the train was in motion.
Celebrating the remarkable event, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) praised the couple for their creativity and boldness in choosing such a unique venue.
The NRC wrote:
“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track. History made, the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria. Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.”
Videos and photos from the event have since gone viral on social media, earning widespread admiration from Nigerians who applauded the couple’s originality and adventurous spirit.
The ceremony was intimate, attended by close family members, friends, and a few of Faqua’s colleagues from the entertainment industry.
