Residents of Ohirigwe Village in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State have been thrown into mourning after the gruesome killing of a 15-year-old boy, identified as Sunday Ela, whose headless body was found on a farmland.
It was gathered that the incident happened on October 15 when one John Adima, an indigene of the community said to be based in Ondo State, reportedly invited the teenager to assist him on his farm.
Adima was said to have returned home alone after the outing and later fled the village to an unknown destination.
When the young boy did not return home, villagers became worried and launched a search to trace his whereabouts.
Their worst fears were confirmed when they found the boy’s beheaded remains on the farmland.
Security operatives have since begun investigating the murder to uncover the motive behind it and apprehend the suspect.
