A 51-year-old schoolteacher, Mrs. Emmanuel Love Onuora, was found dead while riding in a commercial tricycle in Aba, Abia State, police authorities confirmed on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday during what was described as a routine trip along Aba Road. The deceased, popularly known as “Aunty Love,” was reportedly a staff member at a well-known school in the city.

Her identity became public after a photo circulated on social media, prompting an outpouring of tributes from former students and colleagues.

Speaking to PUNCH Metro, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, said Mrs. Onuora had boarded the tricycle operated by one Mr. Okechukwu Sunday, a resident of Aba and indigene of Anambra State.

“While on the journey, another passenger boarded the tricycle. Both the rider and the new passenger soon noticed that the woman was unresponsive,” Chinaka stated.

The tricycle operator promptly reported the situation to the Area Commander in Aba.

Police officers were dispatched to the scene and transported the woman to St. Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
