Grammy-nominated Afrobeat musician Made Kuti has expressed that material possessions don’t hold much importance for him, a mindset shaped by how he was raised.
In a recent conversation with Pulse, Made Kuti revealed that he prefers to follow his own passions instead of pursuing wealth or luxury items.
He also questioned why anyone would feel the need to own several cars, pointing out that vehicles lose value over time.

“I’m the kind of person who just does what he wants. Maybe my dad was smart in how he raised us, because I don’t put much emphasis on material things,” he explained.
Expanding on this, he added, “Take cars for example — how many do you really need? I honestly don’t get why someone would need 7 or 8 cars. They’re depreciating assets.
“Over the next few years, they’ll only lose value. It feels strange to me, but I guess it’s something different for someone else.”
