Manchester City boosted their chances of securing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League after a 2-0 win over Everton at the Goodison Park.
Nico O’Reilly and Mateo Kovacic scored in the last five minutes to hand Pep Guardiola’s side maximum points.
O’Reilly stabbed the ball into the net from four metres after connecting with Matheus Nunes’s low cross in the 84th minute.
Prompt News reports that Kovacic drilled in the second goal from the edge of the box in stoppage time.
City move up to fourth with 58 points from 33 matches, four points ahead of both sixth-placed Chelsea and Aston Villa seventh, but they have played a game more.
The top five qualify for the Champions League next season.
Everton remain in 13th place with 38 points from 33 games.
