A 45-year-old man’s lifeless body was retrieved from a well in Babawa village, located in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, by the Kano State Fire Service on Tuesday.
The Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Abdullahi, released a statement on Wednesday, explaining that the control room received an emergency call about the incident.
According to the statement, the distress call came from ASP Kabiru Lawan of the Gezawa police division at approximately 12:59 PM on January 21, 2025.
The emergency response team was promptly dispatched to the scene, arriving at 1:25 PM.
They found the man, estimated to be around 45 years old, with no known identification, lying unconscious in the well.
Despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead, likely due to prolonged exhaustion.
The body was later handed over to ASP Kabiru Lawan for further investigation.
