The Ondo State Government has designated Friday, January 17, 2025, as a public holiday for state workers.
The decision aims to allow public servants to travel to their hometowns and participate in the local government elections organized by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the holiday underscores the government’s commitment to encouraging voter participation in the polls.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa appealed to all participants to uphold peace and fairness during the elections, stressing the need for a smooth and orderly process across the state.
