A tragic fire outbreak in the early hours of Monday claimed the lives of the daughter and three grandchildren of Secretary to Sokoto State Government (SSG), Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa.
The victims included Alhaji Sifawa’s daughter, who was married to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
The fire, which occurred while the family was asleep, trapped the woman and her three children, leaving her husband as the sole survivor of the incident.
Prompt News reports that authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, while the Sokoto State Fire Service worked to control the flames.
The victims will be buried today at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque in Sifawa, in line with Islamic rites.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread grief and condolences. Among those who have visited the bereaved family are the Deputy Governor, Eng. Idris Mohammed Gobir, members of the State Executive Council, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and several sympathizers, all offering their support during this difficult time.
