Harmony Chidi couldn’t hide her excitement after scoring her first goal at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Chidi was on target in Nigeria’s Flamingos 4-0 rout of Ecuador on Saturday night.
Prompt News reports that the striker fired blanks in the Flamingos opening fixture against New Zealand.
The young striker said it was a thing of joy for her to score for the first time in the competition.
“I’m very happy. I don’t know how to express this. It’s joy for me right now because in the last game, when the goal didn’t come, my coach calmed me down,” she told FIFA.com.
“He believes in me so much that I can do it, even when it’s not coming, so I appreciate him for that and bless God for it.”
